Orkney vs Kinross

Kinross travel to Orkney for their league fixture on the 3rd of April, it has been suggested that we use this as a mini tour as it appears we might not be playing Orkney in Caledonian 1 again. Please click on the tab to the left for more info and to share your thoughts.

Over 30s vs Under 30s

29.12.09

Unfortunately due to the adverse weather conditions the annual inter club match was not playable - playing in 18inches of snow was not something the auld boys were keen on. Instead the guys met in the club house for an afternoon of indoor games. Following rounds of Wii bowling, pool and giant Jenga it came down to the result of a giant Jenga game for the overs to clinch it. George Harley was quick to celebrate getting his brick out, only for the tower to fall. And so a tie, and how to resolve a tie - by drinking of course. A boat-race ensued and the Overs clinched it following a disasterous final drink for the Unders. The grudge match will take to the pitch at the end of the season (weather permitting)

Kinross 12 - 12 Ross Sutherland

05.12.09

Ross Sutherland made the lengthy journey from Invergordon and were lucky to go home having split the points with the homesters. Kinross saw the return of the departed Lee Stobie to the wing making his  presence known by touching down for Kinross in the first 5 minutes. This match also saw the return of Kev Stuart to fill in at back row and he again played a pivotal roll. There were some great attacking and defensive plays from the boys who held strong against a determined and well drilled RS team. As with many games, the Kinross penalty count was too high and this ultimately cost them the victory. A tackle by captain Wood in his own 22 in the dying minutes of the game was deemed a deliberate knock on by the referee (a very questionable call to say the least). Ross slotted it and snatch the draw from the jaws of defeat.

 Kinross 8 - 0 Crieff & Strathearn

21.11.09

Kinross played host to fellow Caley 1 strugglers Crieff & Strathearn in a closely fought but rather unentertaining game. The weather was appauling and some of the rugby was even worse. However, a win is a win and preventing Crieff from getting the bonus point may be useful as the relegation battle rages on throughout the season
